Political Debates essays Political Debate Argument Essay A political debate is when two or more people argue and make valuable points back and forth to each other. In this particular political debate, Ann Coulter and Peter Beinart are engaged in a political debate. Ann is a republican and Peter is a democrat. Their arguments were prepared and spoken in two very different ways. They both used different styles of re[resenting their arguments and views. During the debate, issues about the 2004 presidential race and each canadits views and policies were debated and discussed. I believe that Ann Coulter won the debate against Peter Beinart. Ann Coulter is a republican who strongly supports President Bush. She presented her arguments well. She used Argument by Generalization to not only argue the views of her opponent, Peter Beinart, but to argue the views of democrats as a group. Her arguments flowed right out of her mouth. There were no stops or pauses to think what to say. She was well planned and she spoke articulately. However when she was getting attacked by peter she had to use harsher words to fight back and refute the arguments. Eventhough her presentation was very well spoken she really didn't do that great in arguments. She never attacked an argument directly instead she attacked peter's view of that specific argument. Sometimes she wondered off on arguments. She talked about how kerry flip flops on important issues. Within one day of debating, Kerry said that he was for and then he said he was against gay marriage. She also brought up about how democrats aren't allowing the conservatives to vote on importan t bills and issues like gay marriage, terrorism, and the war in Iraq. I believe that Ann did win the debate because I felt like she was better prepared then peter and her arguments flowed. Peter Beinart is a democrat who strongly supports Senator Kerry. He presented his arguments. He used Argument by Generalization and Ad Haminem b...
